平射实心弹打在土地上一样会反弹的。引一段：
A canon shot does not stop automatically when it hits a target.  The momentum is often strong enough to plow onwards through some substances, like wood or flesh without much of a halt in its career.  In the case of a soldier being hit by a cannon shot, it can cause traumatic amputation where parts and portions of the body are torn away.  It should be remembered, the ranks and files of soldiers are fairly close, so bone fragments and pieces of equipment become projectiles and can wound in their own right.  Blood and body tissue might not cause physical harm but can produce nasty spectacles that can take the fight out of the stoutest heart.

Usually, solid shot would be used against living targets when they were at extended ranges.  In such cases the gun might only use a few ounces of powder, which would send the shot bouncing down the field for hundreds of yards-never higher than a man’s head.  The sight of those balls bounding towards an attacker would be rather discouraging.

The real weapons against living targets were grape and canister shot.  When fired at closer ranges (say, 1-300 yards) whole portions of an enemy line could become casualties in one shot.

Incidentally, cannon placement in battle was critical.  Whenever possible, the guns would be positioned so the barrel would be at an oblique angle to the enemy’s front, instead of perpendicular.  In such a way, more soldiers would be in the impact area of each shot.

再简单归纳一下实心弹野战中的主要杀伤效果：
1) 碎片杀伤：碎片包括打碎的沙石，器械，断肢等。最后一项极有恐怖效果。
2)反弹连续杀伤：以小角度，小装药射击。实心弹可反弹跃起数次，打击效果倍增。
再有，其弹道相当一部分保持在人头部的高度。看着一个个灼热的金属球飞跃而来，
一扫一胡同，对士气打击可想而知。
特拉法加海战中，纳尔逊就曾以胜利号抢占船舷对敌舰首或尾位置，大展横扫千军
之技。

实心弹在野战中也是很有效的。拿破仑战争中数百甚至是千门炮参加的大战不少，实
心弹使用占了7成以上。
