反战的歌。
最近新闻上直播一对军人夫妇在伊拉克，他们隔空向在美国的小女儿问安。
小女儿只有几岁。无奈她不知道父母为何不在身边，无奈为甚么要隔著大气问安，无奈。
无尽的无奈，还要他们等多久，才能一家团员。
才能一家逛市集，再见无奈。

我觉得这也不单单是一首反战歌曲，它也是一首情歌。
比如第二段：
Tell her to make me a cambric shirt 　　　　
Parsely sage rosemary and thyme
Without no seams nor needle work
Then she will be a true love of mine

译出来是这样的：
告诉她为我做一件麻布衬衫，
芫荽，鼠尾草，迷迭香和百里香。
不必用针和线去织，
她就会成为我的真爱。

多浪漫啊！

p.s.：由于这首歌唱起来很容易，我去ktv的时候经常唱，不过我朋友很少有喜欢英文歌的，所以很难找到低音部分的伴唱。
