平型关大捷

2.23日，林彪、聂荣臻在上寨召集干部会议，作出初步计划
3.战士们顶着狂风暴雨，涉急湍山洪，在拂晓前到达了指定地区
4. 把全师主力布置在平型关到东河南镇10余里长的公路南侧山地边缘上

5. 343旅之686团位于白崖台附近，左侧是685团，右侧是687团，口袋底是第33军之独立8旅，115师第344旅，687团断敌退路并打援敌，688团作为预备队

6.此时战士们只着单军装，又破又烂，经半夜冒雨急行军，被汗雨湿透。晋北9月下旬夜间气温已很低（9月19日中秋节，平型关、恒山、雁门关一带曾降大雪），战士们又冷又饿，但伏于湿地、山岩上待命，士气高昂
7.25日晨5时半左右，敌第一辆汽车进入伏击圈，聂荣臻传令：沉住气，无命令不许开火。
8.等敌后板垣师团第21旅团千余人及汽车、大车300余辆进入伏击圈后，115师某团5连连长曾贤生率全连首先向敌冲杀
9.用手榴弹炸毁敌人最后一辆汽车

10.敌人退路被截断，于是拼命冲杀，反复争夺公路两侧制高点――老爷庙

15.于是企图冲破独8旅阵地逃命。独8旅把一线配备改为纵深配备，拼死抵抗。

16.激烈的战斗持续到27日白天，敌人终未能冲破包围，敌板垣师团21旅遭歼灭性打击。因为敌人死不缴械，千余日军全部被击毙，我军伤亡也很严重。据阮受贤回忆，115师约有900人伤亡，《抗战以来的八路军、新四军》一书认为：我团营干部五人负伤，以下近千人伤亡。第5连百名壮士，凯旋时只剩30多人，连长曾贤生壮烈牺牲。战斗极为残酷，独8旅3个团一个补充营5000多人，损失一个团。  

　 平型关大捷，歼敌1000多人，毁敌汽车100辆，大车200辆，缴获步枪1000多支，轻重机枪20多挺，战马53匹，另有其他大量战利品。这是中国抗战开始后取得的第一次大胜利，它粉碎了“皇军不可战胜”的神话，振奋了全国人心，鼓舞了全国人民的抗战热情。它有力地打击了日军的嚣张气焰，迟滞了敌人的进攻，迫使敌人进至浑源和保定的一部分兵力转移到平型关方向，因而有力支援了平汉铁路和同蒲铁路友军的作战，使已陷入敌围的出击部分郭宗汾部得到支援，免于被歼之险厄。
